Medic in training?

Year 12 student enjoys work experience at Epsom Hospital.

One of our Year 12 students recently spent a week at Epsom Hospital observing surgical procedures...

During my week of work experience at Epsom Hospital I was extremely lucky to observe in surgical theatres. Some examples of surgery that I saw include: keyhole surgery of the liver, orthopaedic reconstructions of the hand and wrist and vascular operations. I also saw the induction of anaesthetics and gained a wider knowledge of drugs used in pail relief and sedation.

It was a fascinating week that I feel privileged to have been a part of. I learned a great deal about myself and am still sure that I want to study medicine in the future.
