Greenshaw students welcome Danish visitors

On Monday 25th September, Greenshaw Year 11 students hosted 72 students and 8 staff from Denmark.

This is the second consecutive year we have hosted such a large number of guests from Bagsvaerd Skole. Bagsvaerd is in the Copenhagen suburb of Gladsaxe, which is twinned with Sutton.

Mr Ferguson, who organised the visit, was overwhelmed with the number of volunteers form the Greenshaw student body, such was the enthusiasm to engage with our fellow Europeans to discuss educational, cultural, social and political similarities and differences.

Students enjoyed a tour of the school, one-to-one research interviews, presentations about life for Danish young people, and thinking activities about European identity.

The success of the day was easily measurable in the comments made by students from both countries and the enthusiasm for a possible return visit in the spring. Mr. Ferguson is very grateful to all our student volunteers who represented the school and community so well, as well as all the staff who made the day possible.
