Fishing competition

The girls swept the board at the annual fishing competition.

A brilliant day was had by all at Ockley Lakes for the annual Greenshaw fishing competition, named in honour of fishing enthusiast and geography teacher, Steve Stone.

A group of 11 students from Years 7 to 11 spent the day fishing for carp and perch in the early autumn sunshine. Lucy (Year 10) was the overall winner and winner of the senior group. She landed a staggering catch of 42lb 9oz, whilst Katie (Year 7) won the junior group with a catch of 19lb 11oz. Runner up in the senior group was Megan (Year 10), with a catch of 24lb 10oz and Bradley (Year 7) was runner up in the junior group with 13lb 2oz. Congratulations to all the competitors.
