Year 7 students explore Dover Castle

Students visited the Medieval castle.

Just before half term, 80 of our Year 7 students were taken to Dover Castle which provided them with the opportunity to explore Medieval life to support their learning of history.

Students enthusiastically explored the different features of the castle, such as the Great Tower, with its recreated Medieval interior, and the replica Medieval kitchen, complete with some of the tools and implements necessary to maintain a Royal household. This helped students learn why castles such as these were built during the Medieval Period and how they were used.

We would like to thank the members of staff who joined us on this trip. Their invaluable efforts made sure that the trip ran smoothly as well as making sure that the students got the most out of their experience at the castle.
