On Wednesday 5th July, Greenshaw Sixth Form was joined by 26 employers from companies such as JP Morgan, Subsea 7, DCL Insurance and Duffus Community Foundation for the first ever Greenshaw Sixth Form recruitment day.

The aim of the day was for our Year 12 students to experience the highs and lows of applying to the world of work. Prior to the event, students all completed a job application, wrote a CV and cover letter. On the day they took part in a group assessment centre task, a one-to-one interview with the employers, and a group elevator pitch presentation.

The successful candidates were treated to a networking lunch with the employers and the winning tutor group won prizes provided by the employer supporters. Well done to the winning candidates: Moshope, Holly, Brigit, Vanessa, Maitri, Lily, Charlie, Lucy, Goopek, Sophia, Habibah, James, Sahar, Darius, Sarangan, Deon, Emily, Adeeba, Naima, Saimah, Joshua, Vince, Jess, Nickheal, Kwesi, Molly, Aburvan, and to 12JJ – the winning tutor group.

Mrs Sone, Head of Careers at Greenshaw High School, said: "I would like to say thank you to all the employer supporters for taking time out of their busy schedules to support our students in this way. A special thank you goes to to Sherriden Weal, our Enterprise Coordinator who regularly volunteers her time to support events such as this, without her support such events would not be possible."

In the afternoon, a small group of Year 12s who already recognise the need for work-life balance  organised for the tensions of the day to be released with an afternoon of sports. Well done, Mathesh, Jathurshen, Jasper and Vince.
