School Athletics Championships 2022 – Tuesday 5th and Tuesday 12th July

The PE department this year ran two school athletic championships, hosted at the David Weir Centre, with students competing against other tutor groups in a range of athletics events. It was fantastic to get everyone finally together after a hiatus of two years.

The 5th July was split in half, with Year 7 attending in the morning, and Year 8 in the afternoon, which gave the ideal opportunity for students to watch all the events for their year group and cheer on their peers. A great day was had by all, with the winning tutor groups – 7ERD and 8REV – announced at the end of their events.

With the weather looking particularly warm for the 12th July, a few last minute changes allowed all Year 9 and 10 students to take part in the morning, with gazebos provided for coverage for each tutor group.

The sun did shine throughout the day, but luckily the clouds kept most of it at bay and again students experienced a fantastic day competing and cheering on their tutor groups. At the end of the event the winners were announced, with 9ZCT and 10JRC taking home the trophies.

Congratulations to all the certificate winners and well done to all who participated. Thank you also to all Sixth Form students and staff that supported.
