Fazeel's final fundraiser before leaving Greenshaw

Fazeel Irfan, a Year 13 student who has attended Greenshaw for the past eight years, is holding his final school fundraiser (in the form of a bake sale) before concluding his eight-year journey and legacy at Greenshaw
Fazeel lives with Severe Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa (RDEB), a rare and extremely painful genetic condition often referred to as 'butterfly skin', where the skin can blister and tear from even the slightest friction, leaving painful open wounds all over his body that can resemble second-degree burns. As a result of this, he lives with constant immense pain, undergoes lengthy dressing changes that can take over six hours at a time, and relies on numerous medications, including strong pain relief, to manage the condition and its complications. However, Fazeel does not let that stop him. Throughout his time at Greenshaw, Fazeel has dedicated himself to raising awareness of EB through fundraising events, public speaking, social media and sharing his personal story.
He is featured in Matter of Time, the Netflix documentary highlighting the realities of living with EB, and regularly raises awareness online through Instagram (@fazeel_fightEB), TikTok (@fazeel_fightingeb) and YouTube (Fazeel Irfan).
This final fundraiser will support DEBRA UK, CureEB and EB Research Partnership (EBRP), three charities working to provide vital support for families, fund groundbreaking research and move us closer to effective treatments and ultimately a cure. Fazeel hopes to use this event not only to raise funds, but also to educate others about EB and continue his lifelong mission of ensuring that no one affected by EB feels unseen, unheard or unsupported.
