Super summer showcase celebration

Last night saw our Summer Showcase being performed in the school hall.
The audience had the privilege of watching over thirty different dances, songs, film, drama performances and the evening opened with a film production. It was a joyous celebration of the creative arts.
Each performance was the culmination of the school year’s work, with many of the pieces coming from after school clubs where students have been practising and devising original pieces as well as working from published work. I want to extend a huge thank you to all the staff in music, drama and dance who have given up their time to help students rehearse and practise.
Final week of term
A reminder that next week is a normal school week. Lessons on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday continue for Years 7-10.
On the last day of term, Friday 17th July, all students will attend their timetabled lessons until the end of period 3 at 12:15pm. Students will then return to their tutor bases by 12:20pm for registration. They will then be dismissed at the below times:
- 12:25 pm – Year 7, 8
- 12:30 pm – Year 9, 10
School uniform
To help make back-to-school shopping that little bit easier for families, our uniform suppliers, SWI, are running a Free Delivery promotion on school uniform and sportswear orders. From 13th July to 19th July, parents can enjoy free standard delivery on orders over £50 by using the code FREEDEL at checkout. We hope by sharing this offer, you will be able to save on school uniform purchases ahead of the new term.
Absence reporting using MCAS
We are pleased to remind parents that you can submit student absences directly through the MyChildAtSchool (MCAS) portal or app. This is the quickest and most efficient way to let us know if your child is unwell. Simply log in, navigate to the Attendance section, and submit the details. A guide on how to use this feature on MCAS can be found on our website:

Culture Day – Year 10
Last Friday saw our replication of our long-established Culture Day for our Sixth Form students, but this time with Year 10. There was a celebration of music and dance including performers from Sri Lanka, Philippines, Ghana, Mauritius, Jamaica, India, Italy (to name a few). We also enjoyed all the food donations from students of Korea, Gibraltar, Portugal and more. Thanks to all staff, students and families who contributed to this event – definitely to be repeated next year.
Celebrating Anna-Nicole, Year 7
Anna-Nicole was selected for and earned her certificate in the UKMT Junior Mathematical Kangaroo, an invitation-only round for the country’s top young mathematicians. She was the only Year 7 in the whole school to qualify and the only girl among the Year 8 boys sitting the Junior Kangaroo. This was a brilliant achievement. She is also our Girls in Maths Star for this week. Congratulations, Anna-Nicole.
Students of the week
Well done to each of the students below for being nominated this week. I look forward to hearing about each of their achievements and the contributions that they have made to the school.

Warm weather continues
As I communicated earlier in the week, we will be permitting Greenshaw PE kit, at students’ choice, until the end of term. This avoids the need for daily messages and any confusion. Hopefully, by our return in September, temperatures will have returned to their normal range.
Wishing you all a restful and cool weekend.
