Greenshaw High School is a community school in every sense of the word. We are committed to global education and through our partnership with Sant Nischal Singh Public School in India, international issues are addressed in both schools.
We have also established a link with second school in India – Government Senior Secondary School in Baraunda. This is a rural school of 450 students aged 3 to 18. It is a very different school from SNSPS.
Teachers from a school in Brazil visited Greenshaw to observe teaching and learning in our lessons and to share with us details about education practice in South America.
We are also developing links with schools in Denmark and Holland.
In July 2016, fourteen Year 9 and Year 10 students, headed off to India for two weeks. The group explored various interesting sites in Delhi, as well as a local orphanage. This was followed by a trip to the Taj Mahal in Agra, and Jaipur.
The second half of their visit was centred in Haryana and focused on our partner schools. Students visited Sant Nischal Singh School in Yamunanagar, where they participated in lessons during the day and were hosted by families in the evenings. At Government Senior Secondary School in Baraunda, they spent time meeting students, refurbishing classrooms and also supporting teachers in the junior school.
