Greenshaw High School

Green Wrythe joins the Greenshaw family of schools

Green Wrythe Primary School opened its doors on 13th April as part of the Greenshaw Learning Trust.

Following careful consideration of the issues and its options, and having consulted staff, parents and other stakeholders, the Governors of Green Wrythe decided in December that the school should convert to academy status as part of the Greenshaw Learning Trust.

Having completed the necessary legal processes and reached agreement with the Department for Education, the school formally joined the Trust on 1st April 2015.

Linda Wiggins, Chair of Governors at Green Wrythe said, “We are very pleased to have formally joined the Greenshaw family of schools and look forward to an exciting future for our school”.

Mike Cooper, Chair of the Greenshaw Learning Trust said: “We welcome Green Wrythe into the Greenshaw Learning Trust. By working together under the umbrella of the Trust, both Green Wrythe and Greenshaw High School will benefit from closer collaboration, sharing good practice and economies of scale.”

As an academy in the Greenshaw Learning Trust, Green Wrythe will maintain its existing character and ethos, will not change its name or image or admission arrangements, and will maintain existing terms and conditions for its staff.
