Greenshaw High School

Interfaith panel

Greenshaw students take part in inter-faith panel.

10th December 2013

A group of Year 11 and 10 students from Greenshaw travelled to Sutton Grammar School to participate in an inter-faith debate.

The format of the debate was that selected students from schools in the borough would get to put questions to a panel of representatives of different faith groups in Sutton. These representatives were from Hindu, Muslim, Christian and Jewish faiths. Students from Carshalton High School for Girls, Overton Grange High School and Sutton High School were also there. I was really looking forward to the debate, as I felt it would be a brilliant opportunity to discuss with members of different religions their faith, religious ethics and views.

The inter-faith debate was a very insightful experience, that will no doubt aid me in my religious studies exam later this year, but also in life in general, as I think being able to engage in respectful debate with others is a key skill that is useful in the workplace and in wider society.
