Greenshaw High School

Outstanding A level results

Students celebrated a set of outstanding A level results.

There were many happy faces amongst those students collecting A level results at Greenshaw High School this morning. Almost a quarter of grades were A*/A and over half were A*-B, with the overwhelming majority of students attaining grades that gained them entry to their first-choice university.

There were also some exceptional individual achievements. Robin Platts, who gained two A*’s and one A grade, will be taking up his place at Cambridge University to study Engineering and has been awarded two scholarships for his outstanding performance.  Alex Reyes-Wainwright, who gained one A* and two A grades, will be taking up his place at Oxford University to study Physics.

Mr Jason Mirtschin, Director of Sixth Form, commented, “We could not be more proud of our students. We have continued to support our students, the majority being the first generation to go to higher education, to gain places at some of the most prestigious universities in the country.”

Mr William Smith, Headteacher, added, “We are absolutely thrilled with another set of outstanding results. They reflect the motivation and commitment of our staff, students, and parents.”
