Greenshaw High School

Edenham to join Greenshaw Learning Trust

Edenham governing body decides to join the Greenshaw Learning Trust.

The Governing Body of Edenham High School in Shirley (London Borough of Croydon) has decided that their school should become an academy as part of the Greenshaw Learning Trust.

The Governing Body has been considering its options and how to secure the best future for the school, and resolved that it would be in the best interests of the school to convert to academy status under the umbrella of the Greenshaw Learning Trust.

Richard Fallon, Chair of Governors at Edenham said, “We are very excited for the future of Edenham as part of the Greenshaw family of schools. Like Greenshaw we are a forward looking school with a passion for providing the best education we can for our pupils. Being part of the Greenshaw Trust will strengthen our school and provide further opportunities for our pupils and staff.”

Mike Cooper, Chair of the Greenshaw Learning Trust said: “I look forward to welcoming Edenham into the Greenshaw Learning Trust, developing our shared values and working together to the benefit of the students and staff of Greenshaw and Edenham High schools.”

“This is an exciting step in the development of the Greenshaw Learning Trust. Together, Greenshaw and Edenham, and Green Wrythe Primary School that decided in December that it will join the Trust, will all benefit from closer collaboration and economies of scale.”

As an academy Edenham will maintain its existing character and ethos, will not change its name or image or admission arrangements, and will maintain terms and conditions for its staff.

Edenham, in collaboration with the Greenshaw Learning Trust, will be consulting staff, parents and other stakeholders, and working with the Department for Education to make the necessary arrangements for the move.
