Green Wrythe proposes to join Greenshaw Learning Trust

Green Wrythe Primary School starts a formal consultation on becoming part of the Greenshaw Learning Trust.

The Governing Body of Green Wrythe Primary School has decided to proceed to a formal consultation on becoming an academy as part of the Greenshaw Learning Trust.

Having considered the issues and options, and following discussions with the Greenshaw Trust, the Green Wrythe Governing Body resolved that it would be in the best interests of the school to convert to academy status under the umbrella of the Greenshaw Learning Trust.

Mike Cooper, Chair of the Greenshaw Learning Trust, said: “I look forward to welcoming Green Wrythe Primary into the Greenshaw family of schools. There are already good links between Green Wrythe and Greenshaw and we have shared values and objectives. By joining together under the umbrella of the Greenshaw Trust both schools will be able to benefit from closer collaboration and economies of scale.”

Linda Wiggins, Chair of Governors at Green Wrythe, said: “We are very excited about this proposal for our school. Like Greenshaw, we are a forward looking school with a passion for providing the best education we can for our pupils. This partnership will strengthen the links we already have and provide further opportunities for our pupils and staff.”

Over the next few weeks Green Wrythe will be starting a formal consultation on their proposals that will provide more details and seek the views of parents, students and staff of both schools as well as other stakeholders in the local community. Green Wrythe and the Greenshaw Trust will be working together throughout the process.
