Alice wins international scholarship

One of our Year 11 students has won a prestigious prize.

Year 11 student, Alice, has been awarded the Beaverbrook Vimy Prize 2015, a prestigious international summer scholarship awarded by The Vimy Foundation.

The prize aims to bring together young people from Canada, the United Kingdom and France, so that they can better appreciate the intertwined history of their three nations in the First World War and better understand the bravery and sacrifice of those who fought in that conflict. Alice had to beat off stiff competition to secure the only UK place on the programme and will now spend two weeks in August travelling with her fellow Canadian and French winners to visit key historical sites in the UK, Belgium and France and meet historians and scholars on the ground, giving her the chance to explore this fascinating topic up close and personal. Our congratulations go to Alice on this amazing achievement.
