UCAS
At Greenshaw we are proud that the vast majority of our Year 13 students go on to higher education when they leave. From midway through Year 12 advice is given on the university application process and there are evenings for parents at the end of Year 12 and the start of Year 13 to explain the process.
All undergraduate university courses are listed on the UCAS website and details of the entry requirements can also be found there. These are either given as grades (e.g. BBB) or as a point score (e.g. 300 points). The UCAS points tariff is as follows:
| Grade | A2 | AS* |
| A | 120 | 60 |
| B | 100 | 50 |
| C | 80 | 40 |
| D | 60 | 30 |
| E | 40 | 20 |
* Note AS grades only earn points if they are completed at the end of Year 12. If a subject is continued into Year 13 then the points scored are only for A2. For example, a student attaining 3 C grades at A2 and a D grade in an AS subject she dropped at the end of Yr 12 would score a total of 270 points (3x80 + 1x30).
