Community

Greenshaw High School is a community school in every sense of the word. It prides itself on being part of the local, and through its partnership with Sant Nischal Singh Public School in India, and global communities.

Supporting the local community

Students in the lower school were awarded Community Achievement Awards during achievement assemblies in July.

Forty-three students in Years 7 to 9 received a bronze award. Two students were also presented with the silver award.

To receive a community cohesion award, students needed to have demonstrated their commitment to the school and to the wider community. Contributions included: fundraising for charity, helping at the school fete, supporting the school at open evening, representing the school in sport, music or drama, regular attendance at clubs, participating in clubs and groups outside of school and for being members of a student working party.

Students wishing to submit an application for next year should access the information on the Community Cohesion page on the MLE. Applications should then be sent to Mr Jemson, pjemson@suttonlea.org.
